The colour and lighting choices are generally very nice here, very natural indeed. Though when the Sun gets that close behind a planet, most of it will be in shadow leaving only a very thin cresent visible (at least you made the lighting cresent shaped to begin with, I see people do this with the opposite "gibbous" phased lighting a shockingly frequent amount) Doing so will blacken out most of the planet's texture, so think about the lighting before you do the planet itself since if most is going to be hidden in shadow, then there's no need wasting too much time on it
When creating Earth-like planets, it's a good idea to include clouds on it too, clouds are best created seperately on a different layer in black and white edited from Cloud-maps and set to "screen" where only the white clouds will be visible and make the planet both more realistic and prettier to look at the "inner glow" of the atmosphere could be a bit gentler too
Other things like the sun and starfeild look very good though, as does the plent itself. I was mainly just referring to lighting and clouds
I love the texture of the planet, and the background is amazing. I am still working on perfecting my techniques for creating stars. The atmosphere is definitely a little too harsh though, but that could be fixed with a larger outer glow, and a lower opacity on the inner glow.
